Blog Topics: Three Ideas to Consider

Are you thinking about starting a blog? If so, you should know one very important thing. You need to start a blog that is going to be interesting to you. In other words, do not choose a topic that is not going to hold your attention for a long time. If you do, you will find out soon enough that your blog is going downhill in a hurry. With that being said, there are some topics that are sure to pick up a lot of steam as the months go by. If you can bring yourself to get involved with one of these topics, you will surely have a hand up when it comes to making money through blogging.

Here are the three topics that you may want to consider.

1. In today’s day and age, no topic is more common than health and fitness. Everybody wants to look good, feel good, and live a long time. For this reason, a quality health and fitness blog will go a long way. And since this industry is multi-faceted and continuing to grow, you can be rest assured that your blog will follow in that direction as well.

2. Believe it or not, blogs about making money online are not as played out as some people think. Sure, there are many of these around, but this is the case for a reason. When it comes down to it, there are millions of people who want to make money online. If you can give them useful information, your blog will surely gain traffic and earn money.

3. Through my experience, I have found that sports related blog have a lot to offer. After all, who doesn’t like sports? Even the most obscure sports have hundreds of thousands of fans. The key to success within this niche is to carve out a small piece of the pie. Instead of tackling a general sports topic, you should look into a smaller part such as a particular player or detail.

These are only three of the thousands of topics that you can choose to blog about. Although they may have the most potential, you need to choose a topic that you are interested in. This will allow you to have fun with your blog, and make regular posts without having to think twice.

GetAFreelancer and Low Paying Jobs

I have received many great jobs from GetAFreelancer in the past, and hope to continue this for years to come. But as of late, it appears that more and more low paying jobs are being posted. While these do not bother me, because I will simply ignore them, there are others who may fall prey. After all, this happens to even the best of us.

I have been meaning to write about this problem, and a recent job posting on GetAFreelancer pushed me into doing it today.

Check out this job at http://www.getafreelancer.com/projects/156007.html. I think that the title pretty much says it all: Full Time Work – Max $2 Per Hr. Is this a joke? Does somebody really think that they can find somebody to work full-time for $2 per hour? That works out to a whopping $4,160/year based on a 2,080 hour work year. Even in the poorest countries in the world, this is an absolute insult.

If you do not have the chance to read the post, they are looking for a bidder that feels that $50 to $60 a week is an acceptable income. The job title is quite extensive as they are looking for a person who can handle CSS, customer service, link building, content writing, and more. In other words, they want a highly skilled, full-time worker that will work for peanuts.

When I first saw this post I figured that nobody in their right mind would place a bid. But guess what? After one day on GetAFreelancer, there have been 29 bids with an average bid price of $46.

Do yourself a favor, and get paid what you are worth. Working full-time on your own website or blog will go much further than taking a job like this.

Three Blogs to Read

Time and time again I have talked about reading others blogs. Not only will this teach you a lot, but you can also get some great ideas of your own by doing this. With that being said, I wanted to write a short post about three blogs that I frequent on a regular basis.

1. Johnchow.com – No matter what, I never miss a post by John Chow. I may make some money through my blogs, but not nearly as much as he does. If you are interested in making money online, John Chow is your guy!

2. Problogger.net – If you want to learn about blogging, this is the place to be. Darren Rowse is the master when it comes to making money with blogs, teaching others to succeed, and much more. The posts on this blog will keep you busy for months on end.

3. Janemayblogs.com – Although this blog is not as popular as the two listed above, it may very well be my favorite. This blog is written in a down to earth style, and the posts are easy to associate with your own ventures.

If you are not reading these three blogs, bookmark them today!
