Every blogger starts in the same place, the beginning. They had to figure out how to get started, increase traffic, and maybe even make money. If you are thinking about starting a blog, but are scared of what it takes, follow the tips below.
1. First and foremost, you need to focus on writing quality content. Even though it may go unnoticed at first, over time content will turn into traffic. Simply put, without good content you will never attract any readers.
2. Make a strong attempt to get in touch with bloggers who have interests similar to yours. If you are blogging about video games, find others who are doing the same. Not only will this help you to stay up to date on the industry, but they may also be able to help your blog succeed.
3. If you are hoping to increase traffic, and maybe monetize your blog, you are going to have to work long and hard. There is no easy way to succeed without hard work. Remember, it may be hard work early on, but as time goes by you will begin to reap the rewards!
These three tips may be geared towards new bloggers, but all in all, they can be applied to anybody with any level of experience.
When starting a blog one of the most important decisions that you need to make is what host you will use. While many people get started on a free blogging platform, I do not advise this. After all, you want to be in complete control at all times.Â
Although I made many early mistakes, I have finally decided that BlueHost is the best hosting company for my blogs. This is not to say that they are better than the competition, but in my opinion they have everything that a blogger could be looking for.
Here are three reasons that I use BlueHost for hosting my blogs.
1. From my experiences, there is no better customer service team out there in the hosting industry. This is the one thing that I was really interested in when searching for a new host, and BlueHost has never disappointed. I use their “live chat†feature time after time, and there is always a ready and willing representative to assist me. Since I lack technical skills, being able to have a BlueHost rep walk me through certain processes is a huge help.
2. When you sign up with BlueHost you will get a free domain name forever! This is not a huge deal, but for new bloggers it is a definite benefit. It is nice to get something for free when you open an account, and there is nothing better than the potential of a domain name.
3. For $6.95/month you can get a decent hosting package that will probably suit the needs of your blog; at least during the beginning stages. This price includes 300 gigabytes of hosting space, 3,000 GIGS of transfer, 2,500 POP email accounts, and much more.
If you are ready to start a blog or website, or are having a hard time with your current host, check out BlueHost.
As you may remember, I have been talking a lot about increasing my blog output to two posts per day. Since I have decided to move forward with this, it has led me to think about when I will write each one of these posts. With one per day timing is not a huge deal, but as you increase the output this is definitely something to think about.
I usually write my blog post sometimes in the mid-morning hours, and then post around lunch or a little bit later. This seems to be working just fine, and it gives readers the chance to catch up on the latest post no matter what type of lifestyle they lead. But when I add another post per day, things are going to get a bit trickier.
To start, I am going to continue adding the first post around lunch, but then follow it up with another in the late afternoon. Two posts are not overwhelming, but it will add more value to the blog, while hopefully helping readers in additional ways as well.
So when do you write your blog posts? Are you on a set schedule, or simply moving forward each day as you see fit?Â
