New ChrisBlogging Design

If you are reading this post, you are doing so while looking at the new design of ChrisBlogging. What do you think? Even though it took a while to get the new theme up and running, I am quite happy with the final result. I really wanted to add an updated look and feel, and in my opinion this was accomplished quite nicely.

You will notice that this design is nothing like the old one. Just a few of the major additions include a 728 x 90 banner, as well as six 125 x125 buttons. If you read other blogs, which I am sure you do, you have probably seen similar set-ups.

Additionally, you will also notice that I have added a search box and the ability to subscribe to ChrisBlogging via email. Both of these tools should definitely help readers. If you don’t use an RSS reader, taking advantage of an email subscription is a great way to stay up to date with all my posts.

All in all, I am happy to finally be working with the new design. It is my hopes that this will make for a better experience for me, as well as all my readers.

If you have any opinion or question on the design, be sure to leave a comment or send me an email. Of course, Stumbling this post and/or subscribing to my feed are also greatly appreciated!

Great new look! I like the trees.

  2. Erik Karey Says:

Very nice work. The only critique that I have is I think the header area is a little big and you don’t get to see much of the actual content without scrolling down. Other than that, I really like what you’ve done here. Great job!

Thanks for the early comments! Of course, there are still some bugs to work out, but over the next few days they’ll be taken care of!

Yea the header is like 150kb which is a big nono. Wow you have advertisers already! Did they contact you to get advertised or did you contact them? How much was the price for each 125×125 ad.

  5. chrisblogging Says:

I have gotten feedback both ways on the header; and see where you guys are coming from. But personally, I love the big look and have found it equally attractive on highly thought of blogs!

Very cool! Love the new Design!!!!

Wow, I totally dig the new design Chris. Definitely makes you stand out from the crowd now. Nice color scheme too. I also just sent you an email about advertising.

  8. Deborah Dera Says:

I don’t know. I’m on IE at work and all of your ads are at the bottom of the page – I assume they’re supposed to be down the right side? (at least, they were when I saw the new design pop on my screen the other day).

All your ads and headers seem to have grown while your text has shrunk; like someone else mentioned…. that’s probably the part I like least. I suppose I wouldn’t mind it as much if you changed the font of your actual posts so that they blended in better instead of seeming hard to read against the rest of the site.

Otherwise, it IS nicer than the generic site you had before :)

  9. Rock Says:

O yeah, I just check the site in Internet Explorer, and the whole right sidebar is pushed down to the bottom. I never use IE, but after what Deborah said I check it out. She is right, the layout screws up in IE.

Hey guys! Thanks for the feedback on the ie compatibility; we are working that out today. I figured there would be some setbacks, but not this many. Ill be sure to get right on it!

    I haven’t seen it yet -_-

    Hey, Chris:

I’ve been here before, i found you again, through the portfolio section over at Blog The Machine. I recognized the name, but wasnt sure it was you. But when i clicked on the link, and seen your theme, i knew it was you.

Nice job on the theme, it definitely elevates things to the next level. Looks really nice, im also looking for one myself. BTM is out of my price range, but they do good work.

Nice to run into you again. Missy.
